"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us... You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us..."
John Lennon
As well as a regular programme devoted to concerts, exhibitions and discussions on music, there is also an area where everyone can enjoy the music of their choice.
At the Music Library we feel like going analogue again, appreciating a seven or twelve inch record cover, feeling the weight of the vinyl, putting it on the turntable and slowly dropping the needle so that the acoustic pleasure can begin.
There are over 600 records available and you can feel the music, literally. This vinyl collection is our vision of the perfect audio library, with no shortage of essentials from the main music genres. It is a growing catalogue curated by a number of artists with links to music and the city; a connection with the city’s record shops and all music lovers who want to participate in this grand idea that music, when created, is meant for all.
A good record always goes well with a good book, which is why there is also a selection of specialised books on music, songwriters, composers and performers.
In the midst of so many books and records, there is still plenty of room for conversation. There will be long, fascinating tertulias on a regular basis, focusing on landmark records, symbolic songs, broken hearts, crazy parties, important bands, little-known singers and the whole spectrum of topics that accompanies music. In this haven, there is always time to listen to a book or read a record, you just have to be attentive.
